Reader’s Question:

I am debating with myself over getting a long term care insurance. I live in Evanston Illinois IL, so would you consider it a need? When should I get one?

Amrei

Evanston, IL

Definition of need certainly has changed from the old days. Nowadays, everybody needs an internet connection, though our grandparents certainly have survived without it. I know, Amrei, that you have also seen some changes in Evanston Illinois IL. Similarly, today’s generation is becoming more and more aware on the importance of having security for old age.

Getting an insurance is a great way of preparing for the future, and certainly a long term care insurance is one of the best forms of insurance. People of today tend to prepare for the future – a great discipline – by paying for many of the services they would need later. Acquiring a long term care insurance today is just a way of paying for the bills that would in your old age. The earlier you get your long term care insurance, the more “discount” you get on premiums, and who doesn’t love a good discount? The best time to get an insurance policy is when you have convinced yourself that (i) you need it and (ii) you can afford it. There are many variations of long term care insurance in terms of price and coverage.

Reader’s Question:

Hi. I’m from Macon and I just purchased long term care insurance policy in Macon, Georgia GA. I’m just anxious about the possibility of inflation. Inflation might lessen the benefits and coverage that I get from the amount that I’m currently paying, which means I won’t be able to get the benefits I intended to pay for in the first place. What can I do?

Lisa

Macon, GA

It’s great that you’ve asked about insurance and it’s connection to the economy. I haven’t really considered that thought until you asked me. Inflation can be an inevitable thing, and no matter what your insurance option is, no matter where you buy your insurance policy from, when inflation happens – your policy will lose it’s value.

There are a couple of things that you can do to protect you and to minimize your possible loss. This doesn’t guarantee full protection, but these are probably your best options when worse comes to worse. The first thing you can do is to buy more coverage. You can ask your local insurance agent in Macon, Georgia about that. This can be a means of protecting you against inflation, but can be a very expensive way of doing so.

Indexed inflation is another option. This allows your policy’s amount to increase over a certain period of time. This isn’t that ideal because it increases your premium, and may not make a difference if the inflation causes long – term care costs to rise higher than the usual rate.

Another possible option is called simple protection. This fixes a certain percentage each year which causes your daily benefits to increase. But this might not be so useful in the long run. The last possible option is called compounded protection. This increases your daily benefit each year by a certain percentage, where the increase is compounded. This is probably the best among the choices.

But before you do make a decision, the wisest thing to do is to speak to your local insurer so you can be explained in full detail. Hope this helps you!

Reader’s Question:

Hi! I just got married and my wife and I are planning to start our own little (or big) family here in Berwyn, Illinois. Is it important for me to prioritize getting a long term care insurance? Thanks ahead!

Arnold

Berwyn, Illinois

Congratulations on your newly married life, Arnold!

Starting your own family is like embarking on an unknown journey. It is exciting, as well as uncertain at the same time! I can feel your excitement and I know you want the best things for your family – to – be. That’s why it is really important to get long term care insurance for both you and your wife.

We have to remember that there are things that are out of our control, and if ever something uneventful happens, you can be assured that you’re well taken care of, and you’re not straining your family at the same time. But you have to remember that even if it is important, you shouldn’t jump into the first long term care insurance deal that’s offered to you in Berwyn Illinois IL.

Remember that you’ll be needing this in the future, so you have to make sure that your insurance provider in Illinois is a reliable one that will surely still be there in the future. Aside from taking company reliability and stability into consideration, you should also remember that policies can differ (some insurance companies offer various plans of the same insurance policy!) This means that you should look around and compare quotes from different insurance companies in Berwyn Illinois IL. Make sure that you’re well informed about the benefits, the coverage, the rates that you have to pay, and how long your insurance policy may last. Remember that although the most expensive policy available sounds and looks enticing, you might find something more reasonable that offers the same coverage as well.

You can do this easily online by tying in your zip code on the appropriate space in this webpage.

Reader’s Question:

When is the right time for me to buy long term care insurance in Illinois? Can I live without it?

Benny

Aurora, IL

Hello there, Benny.

For most people, not having a long term care insurance is something that they can live with. In my opinion, I definitely think that it is one of the most practical options and can be the most useful insurance you will have in your senior years.

If you are the type of person who plans ahead, it can be the most reasonable investments to prioritize. You can also buy for any of your loved ones who are getting older without any insurance. There is no perfect time that you can buy one…but the moment that you think of buying, then by all means, do it. It does not only save you on premiums when you buy at a younger age, you also get to feel secure that you have a long term care insurance the moment that you’re going to need it. Long term care insurance premiums normally get higher as one grows to an age closer to when the insurance will be used up.
Although long term care insurance is intended for care in the nursing homes, home visits, and other pertinent bills that will come up with long term care, sometimes you might just need it in a hurry without much time to plan for it.

The most important thing is for you to be able to look for long term care insurance in the right places like the internet. You may also call your local insurance agent in Illinois for assistance in planning your insurance.

Enjoy your shopping for long term care insurance!
